My life has been insane lately, but I’m hopefully going to get back into this blog. Anyone still interested in learning some hocus pocus?

Just wondering, how would you bless a mirror facing you as you sleep? I have one attached to my wall so I can't move it o:

i would suggest making a witch’s mirror (hexen spiegel). it’s rather straightforward. a little lemon juice and water, wash the window with it once a month (follow a lunar cycle if you choose to draw on the moon for it) and that’s about it! should take care of any problems you have and keep away any nasties worked against you.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately! I’m adjusting to being back at home and trying to catch up on life. Feel free to ask questions or suggest ideas for tips! I’ll try to get back to posting at least one a day by the end of the week!

Ah! I’m swamped with studying for finals and will be for a bit longer yet! As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I’ll still answer questions but posts will be a bit delayed. Some questions may not get answered right away, but I’ll do by best!

Good luck for those of you who are students!

Hi! I was wondering if you had any advice on beginning a Grimoire? Thank you :)

Depends. I assume you’re using the word Grimoire specifically because you intend for it to be filled with works you wouldn’t share, right? Some people use the words with a specific connotation, others use them interchangeably (book of shadows, of secrets, grimoire, tome, ect). I usually don’t mean much when I pick one word or the other. The intent is in the writer’s mind.

I would first pick a book to write in. A regular notebook or something can work, but probably isn’t as meaningful as something more elaborate or, if you have the resources, self made. I would probably let the book sit for a while during your regular practicing. Familiarize yourself with it after performing a ritual before breaking your circle. Touching the book, looking at the pages, and the like may seem very pointless but is a good way to get the book and yourself on the same page. Magical tomes should be written using both your physical bodies and your spiritual ones and it’s up to you to give the book such a body.

After it’s all about enchanting the book and making it your own. Usually the inside covers are where protection spells are written and should be done so with great attention to detail and focus. Usually some kind of warning, notice, or direction (depending on what you want the book to be for) goes there as well. Then it’s a matter of building the relationship between you and your work inside the book.

Make sense?

I read tarot cards have been for 10 years. My question is that I have lost a book that has had over 10 years worth of knowledge , self created spreads etc. Do you believe there was a reason why I have lost/ misplaced this book ? Awesome blog by the way.

Hmm…well there are lots of reasons we misplace things. Sometimes we’re forgetful, sometimes they’re moved, and other times things just seem to disappear. If it wasn’t forgetfulness (as my losing things often is) then perhaps it’s time for you to start over again. There’s this idea in the Craft that once we know how to do something, we don’t need to change. That power comes from repetition. To some degree, it does. But with that repetition comes stagnation and a self-limiting mindset. Maybe it’s time for you to try something new? Learn a new form of divination or find a way to use the cards in a new way.

Thanks for the compliment too!

Thank you! Yeah I'm just really lost because I have always been interested in it but my theatre director recently introduced me to all of this and so I just need help on the magic front. Like I would really love to pursue witch craft but need more guidance. Like I just need someone to start the ball rolling for me (sorry If I'm being a both :/)

Haha, I don’t even know what a both is.

That noted, witchcraft isn’t something you should enter into without serious consideration. I suggest you read everything you can and take it all in with a grain of salt. Don’t really try anything until you think you’re ready. If you think so, there’s a little ritual I think teaches you best what exactly you’re doing.
