How do you commune with your patron and how do you know that they're there?

As I noted before, I’m not a wiccan or a religious pagan. As a result, I don’t observe any patrons. However, the pagan friends I have who do observe patrons have the same sort of experiences with it that any other religious person does. It’s a matter of faith and observance. Patron gods may not be particularly responsive, especially to new practitioners or ones who don’t regularly make sacrifices and libations. Unlike many popular, contemporary religions, worship isn’t enough for a patron relationship to be established. It requires regular sacrifice and constant observation. If you doubt your patron is there, then they’re unlikely to respond to you, even if you do sacrifice often.
